This equipment is used as an emergency flow cut-off to protect the turbine’s hydraulic circuit, or to isolate the turbine in cases of preventive maintenance.

It features a hydraulic actuator for opening maneuvers and counterweight assistance for gravity closing in emergency situations. It also has a By-pass device for pressure equalization before and after the shutter piece.
